Successful Catalog Shows- Tips from Deb Bixler

Do you avoid catalog shows because they were a “waste of your time”?  Do you feel it wasn’t worth any effort?  You couldn’t be more wrong.  Although you are better off to book a home show, catalog shows are great ways to increase sales as well as market your business. 

Deb Bixler, a nationally recognized trainer and speaker for direct sales, released an audio e-book titled “Catalog Shows are Gravy”.  Deb highlights her system for getting and running a successful catalog show.  The 4 steps she discusses are:

First, how do you find a catalog show?  Your number one best way is at your current home party.  You could hold a raffle at the end of the party where you will gather information.   Some of the questions would be “are you interested in hosting a home show” and “are you interested in hosting a catalog show”.   Your customer would check yes, no or maybe.  Go over this with your customer at the end of the show.  At that point, ask the questions that will give you the results you want.

• Customer care calls and past hostesses
• Fairs and Expos
• Out of town friends and relatives (how many of them don’t even know you have your own business?)
• Public speaking events/workshops
