Set Your Home Party Business Goals for 2009

in Manage Your Business

As you look back at 2008, did you accomplish everything that you had planned? Are you where you want to be in your career or your home party business? As you head into 2009, set yourself up for success and set your goals for a productive (and prosperous) New Year.

One thing I’ve learned from almost every home party motivational speaker is to set goals. Everyone has different ways of doing it but the end result is all the same. Setting your goals helps you stay focused and achieve all that you want. What do you want out of your home party business in 2009?

  • Start with the end in mind. Picture where you want to be this time next year. Do you want to earn a trip, do you want to promote to a higher position or do you simply want to earn enough money to pay off your car or credit card bill? Once you’ve decided what you want to accomplish, figure out what it takes to get there.
  • Be specific and measurable. Once you’ve decided on what you want to accomplish, figure out exactly what it takes to get your there and be specific. How many parties do you need per month? How many new recruits do you need? What title do you want to promote to and by what date? If you know what you need to accomplish each month, it’s easier to reach your goals.
  • Be realistic but don’t aim too low. Decide what you can realistically do. You don’t want to set yourself up for disappointment or extend yourself far beyond what is possible for you and your family’s schedule and lifestyle. Of course don’t make it too easy on yourself either. You want to challenge yourself without driving yourself crazy. Find that happy medium.
  • Post them where you can see them daily. This is your road map to your year ahead. Don’t just shove them in your desk drawer or file folder or you might loose you way. Post them in a place that you can see them every day. This will help you stay on track to achieve everything you want to for the New Year.

What are your goals? Please post your goals in the comments section. We’d love to hear what you have planned for 2009. What better way to be accountable than to share it with the world?

Have a Happy 2009!
