Although scented candles do work they are a serious fire hazard. According to the National Candle Association, 18,000 residential fires were caused by candles last year. Amazingly 7 out of 10 households in the U.S. continue to burn scented candles in their homes because there has been no other alternative…until now!

Scentsy wickless candles are highly scented bars of wax called “Scentsy bars” that melt at a very low temperature in our specially designed electric warmers. Scentsy began in 2003 with the powerfully simple idea of aromatic candles – using decorative warmers with wax melted by the heat of a light bulb instead of a traditional wick and flame. Colette Gunnell and Kara Egan, Scentsy’s founders, created a partnership and Scentsy was born.
Enter Orville Thompson, who first encountered Scentsy at a home show in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2004. Sensing there was something special about the wickless candle concept,
Orville and wife Heidi purchased Scentsy from Kara and Colette. Orville and Heidi decided to market and sell Scentsy products directly to consumers through home parties. Now celebrating its 6th anniversary, Scentsy is a recognized industry-leading company.

Are there any additional expenses (startup, yearly renewal, website, etc)?

Every Scentsy Consultant gets a free website for 3 full months ($10/month after that). The website is essential to your business and it pays for itself month after month with online orders.

The back office is free for consultants and provides order entry templates, resources as well as tracks commissions and customers and prospects. Scentsy also provides free credit card processing and free shipping on orders over $150.

In order to maintain “active” status, you need to place at least $150 in orders during one out of every three months. You can also act as your own Hostess and Consultant.

How much is the commission on personal sales and downline? How often are consultants paid?

Consultants can earn 20% – 30% commission on their own sales as well as additional bonuses on the sales of other Consultants they sponsor. Some of our Consultants opt to sell just enough to get their Scentsy products at a discount, while our Superstar Directors can make six figure incomes per year.

What is your favorite thing about your company?

Scentsy is a safe simple system. There are not endless products to memorize so my customers are never overwhelmed. The parties are so enjoyable and my customers love the flexibility of basket and internet parties. Scentsy also offers fundraisers which are great fun. With the release of a new scent and warmer each month, people are ALWAYS interested in what is going on with Scentsy and what is new. It’s fabulous, fun and easy!!

What is your favorite product?

My favorite product is the Scentsy bar itself. I have tried different melts in the past and I can assure you that NOTHING compares to Scentsy. The time and effort that is put into creating these amazing scents is incomparable. The quality and depth of the scents is amazing. I have truly never experienced such a high quality product when it comes to adding beautiful scents to my home.
