Origami Owl’s story starts with a teenager and a dream. Our company was founded by 14 year-old Isabella in the fall of 2010. Fueled by a goal to raise enough money to buy a car for her 16th birthday, she started the business with $350 worth of babysitting money and a matched contribution from her parents. She sold her unique line of personalized jewelry at home parties and boutiques and quickly realized that this brand has an energy all its own. People absolutely love creating and wearing personalized jewelry that has meaning and is special to them.
Officially launching as a home party business on January 3rd, 2012, we are currently around 120 Independent Designers strong.
What is the cost to start up? What comes in the startup kit?

Are there any additional expenses (startup, yearly renewal, website, etc)?
To start as an Independent Designer you are required to purchase a kit. You can choose any of the 4 kit options. Currently we do not have a yearly renewal fee. Our website is $9.95 a month after the first free month that comes as part of your starter kit.
How much is the commission on personal sales and downline? How often are consultants paid?
As an Independent Designer you make 50% on all charms and 30% on all other sales. You are paid for all party sales the night of the party and you are paid on all website orders commission once a week. All downline commissions are paid out once a month. Commissions paid on downline run from 9%-15% and run 5 levels deep.
What are some of the additional benefits/rewards consultants can earn?
We have a great Designer Rewards program that gets items added to it as the time goes. It is truly great to be rewarded by the company for doing something you LOVE.
What is your favorite thing about your company?
The story about how the company. A young girl who is interested in purchasing a car takes the matter into her own hands and starts selling jewelry. It is a true inspiration and sends a great message, if you want someone be willing to work for it!
What is your favorite product?
My favorite thing is the Living Lockets. From the moment I saw the lockets in a picture, I was smitten. Now that I have seem them in person I am completely in LOVE! I just love how they are an extension of you and not another piece of jewelry that someone else designed. You design your own story in your locket.
