Is The Home Party Plan Industry Recession Proof?

Has the bad economy affected the Home Party Business industry? It appears the answer is no!

This Associated Press article says the home party plan industry is booming.  According to the article, Mary Kay consultants increased over 20% earlier this year. Wow!  That is an unbelievable increase for a home party company that is already huge.

What can be learned from this article?

This is the perfect time to build your team and get more recruits.  With people being laid off and the average cost of starting a home party business under a couple hundred dollars, many people are looking to join a home party business.  Now is the time to increase your marketing for recruits.  Advertise online or make a new sales pitch about your business at your next home party.  Build your team now and when the economy rebounds you’ll be in a great position to capitalize on your hard work.

The well established home party companies are doing very well.  If a huge home party business like Mary Kay with tons of consultants can realize a 20% growth rate in consultants it shows that the large well established home party companies are still the safest bet.

Consider signing up for a ground floor home party business.  Everyone knows that the first people in a home party business make crazy amounts of money.  Well with so many people entering the direct sales industry you may be able to grow a large team by getting in on a ground floor opportunity.  But, there is also a greater risk that the company you choose doesn’t survive and your hard work is for naught.  This is the classic decision every person must consider when choosing between an established home party business and a ground floor opportunity home party business.

There is likely to be more competition out there right now.  Both from consultants in your current home party business and from other home party businesses.  The consultants who survive will be those that increase their marketing efforts, build a strong team and have fun and exciting parties.

What has your experience been?  Have you signed up more recruits this year?
